Swift is a new technology, developed in the UK, which has been licenced for the general treatment of skin lesions in Podiatry and Dermatology. Swift uses microwave energy which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin to treat the affected tissue.

Like many treatments for skin lesions, some discomfort may be experienced. Before treatment, your practitioner may decide to reduce the lesion with a blade. Pain levels vary from person to person but this is controllable and lasts 2 – 3 seconds then quickly subsides.

Every individual responds differently to treatment and we are on hand to answer any questions you may have about your treatment. In some cases, the treated area may feel sore but will not prevent you from undertaking normal daily activities. If you feel uncomfortable immediately after treatment and it continues beyond 5 days, please contact the clinic.

We ask patients to anticipate a course of 4 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Once the first 3 are complete, there's a 12-week break before the 4th progress appointment.

Depending on how you respond, you may not need all 4. We ask for your support in following the full protocol, as this gives the best chance of success. Our treatment is medically researched and clinically proven, with an 85% success rate within the 4-appointment course.

In some cases, patients need further treatment beyond the initial 4. This will be assessed and discussed at your 4th appointment.

Yes, warts and verrucae are the same HPV virus, we have successfully treated many hand, elbow and knee warts. Please call to ask advice on this before booking. 

There is clinical evidence that shows the longer the infection has persisted, the poorer the cure rate. Verruca that present on the feet in particular are difficult to resolve. The statistics tell us that 42% of verruca will disappear within 6 months, but if the condition persists for longer than 6 months, the chances of the virus clearing up without treatment drops to just 8%.
